Jaclyn Fleig MCD, CCC-SLP

Jaclyn Fleig MCD, CCC-SLP, owner of Palmetto Kids Speech Therapy, was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a nationally certified and South Carolina Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Jaclyn graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors of Science in Communications Disorders (2011) and Masters of Communications Disorders (2013).  After graduation she took a position at a skilled nursing facility. Her desire to work with children led Jaclyn to take a position with Easter Seals of Birmingham Alabama in their pediatric clinic. This is where she found her true passion of helping children and giving them the tools to succeed. Jaclyn currently lives in Columbia with her husband and two children.

So why Speech Therapy?

I became a Speech-Language Pathologist because when you really study it, the way in which we communicate is fascinating in its complexity.  As adults, we don’t give a second thought to verbal communication because we do it everyday. We take for granted how complex communication is because it typically develops naturally in children. 

However, for those children who have delays or developmental issues with communication, it can cause frustrations and difficulties for the whole family. It is truly rewarding to assist children and families find the keys to communication. The ability to communicate opens up a whole new world that was previously inaccessible or seemingly out of reach.

I started Palmetto Kids Speech Therapy to guide children and their families to reach their unique speech and language goals while making a life-long impact on their communication skills.

We are currently looking to hire a Speech Language Pathologist/Speech Language Pathology Assistant to help build our growing team of therapists.

Palmetto Kids Speech Therapy is a small, locally owned and operated clinic that provides comprehensive care for children birth to 18 years of age. Experience the freedom of working with an independent practice focused on providing the best service available. We also focus on parent and caregiver support, training, and engagement at every level.

Our practice is growing and we are looking for a Part-Time therapist to start (afternoons required) with the potential to build into a full time schedule. Benefits are scaled based on scheduled hours.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Master’s Degree in Communications Sciences Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program, and a current South Carolina state license
  • The Speech-Language Pathologists must have their CCCs or completing CFY.
  • 1 year pediatric experience is preferred.
